How Much Does SEO Cost in Denver? Real Numbers for 2026
Most Denver businesses pay between $750 and $2,500 a month for local SEO. That range is wide because the work behind it is wildly different at each end, and because 'SEO' is sold as one product when it is really five or six.
Here is what each tier buys, what should make you suspicious, and how to work out whether the math makes sense for your business before you sign anything.
Under $500 a month
At this price nobody is doing custom work. You are buying a slice of a shared process: an automated citation submission, a generic monthly blog post, and a dashboard report generated by software. It is not a scam exactly, but it rarely changes rankings in a market as competitive as Denver.
There is one exception. If your Google Business Profile has never been properly set up and you have no competition worth the name, a cheap tier can produce real improvement simply because the basics were missing. That gain happens once and then stops.
$750 to $1,200 a month
This is where most single-location Denver service businesses sit. It buys profile management, citation cleanup, on-page optimization, two or three real content pieces, a review process, and a human reviewing performance monthly.
It is enough to win a neighborhood and a couple of service terms. It is not enough to dominate the whole metro across six trades, and any agency telling you otherwise at this price is planning to underdeliver.
$1,500 to $2,500 a month
This tier funds multi-city coverage, a real content calendar, link and mention building, technical work on the site itself, and structured data for AI search. Contractors covering the Front Range, dental and legal practices, and anyone competing against agencies with big budgets usually need to be here.
The honest test is whether the deliverables list changes when you move up a tier. If the only difference between the $900 and the $2,200 package is 'more blog posts,' you are being sold volume, not strategy.
What the price should include either way
Your accounts in your name. Call tracking so leads are countable. A report that shows calls and leads, not just impressions and 'domain authority.' A named person you can call. And no long-term contract, because a contract is a substitute for results.
Setup fees are normal for the first month when there is genuine audit and rebuild work. Setup fees that recur are not.
Doing the math before you commit
Work out your average job value and your gross margin. A roofer with a $9,000 average job at 35 percent margin covers a $1,500 monthly budget with roughly one extra job every two months. A coffee shop needs hundreds of extra visits for the same spend, which is why SEO budgets should scale with transaction value rather than with ambition.
If the number of extra jobs required to break even sounds unrealistic for your business, say so out loud before you start. A good agency will either restructure the scope or tell you SEO is the wrong channel right now.
