Dear Founder: You Don't Need to Be on Every Social Platform
Six accounts posted to badly help less than one account posted to well. Especially for a local service business, where most buyers arrive from search and referrals anyway.
Pick by where your buyers are
Home services and local retail: Facebook and your Google profile. B2B and professional services: LinkedIn. Visual trades, food, fitness, beauty: Instagram. Everyone else can wait.
Your Google Business Profile is a social channel
Posts, photos, questions, reviews — and it sits in front of people at the exact moment they're choosing. It outranks every other channel for a local business and almost nobody keeps it current.
A rhythm you can actually keep
One useful post a week beats daily for three weeks then silence. Finished jobs, before-and-afters, a common question answered. Photos from your phone are fine.
Ignore follower count
Two hundred local followers who might hire you beat ten thousand strangers. Measure calls and messages, not applause.
